Texas freeze and giveaway day!

In case you haven't heard, we've had a giant ice storm here in Texas all weekend. Our poor tree branches are laying on the ground. As far as we can tell, none are broken and we are hoping they will bounce back as the ice thaws.
The ice did make for some interesting photo opportunities....
We've been stuck in the house since Thursday (ok, we snuck out to Target yesterday afternoon in hubby's big truck with brand new tires. It probably wasn't our brightest move, but we were all suffering from severe cabin fever! We're home now safe and warm, no worries). Honestly, we could use a little excitement here at ellyn's place. How about a giveaway? What? It's Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day you say? How convenient!
With all of this nasty weather coast to coast I imagine there's lots of hot beverage drinking going on. Whatever your drink of choice, (tea? hot chocolate? coffee?) wouldn't it taste better on a snazzy Christmas mug rug? Yes? I thought so (what? you're reading this on the other side of the equator and are currently drinking lemonade on the beach? Fine. Christmas is still coming up, right?)
Look how cute it looks! No, I'm not going to mail you my mug. But I promise to include some extra goodies in your package (you want the candy canes? Ok, I can part with those!)
No hoops to jump through at ellyn's place.... just leave me a comment (maybe you can share one thing that's on your list for Santa this year). I will choose a winner on Friday evening, December 13. Oh, and you might want to hop on over to Sew Mama Sew after you're done here. There are lots more goodies up for grabs. Good luck!

WANT! Hmmmmm, my list FOR Santa or FROM Santa? My Santa has a couple of eye surgeries coming up so, I want a speedy and uneventful recovery for him. FROM Santa? A real greenhouse with entry from the south side of the back porch...oh, please oh, please! I will be real good! Well, as good as I can be for me anyway!

Thank you for a fun giveaway. If I could have anything it would be a sewing room, but I will settle for some quilting books.

We don't really do Santa gifts in my family anymore (we did as little kids, but now the gifts are from family and only the stockings are from Santa), but I'm hoping I get a cutting board this year.

I love these handmade giveaways! I long arm quilt and never have time to make something for myself. From Santa? I really want a Quilters Rule ruler that you can set to line up precisely for 2.5 inch (or others) cuts. Spendy, but would help from making slipping mistakes. Happy holidays!

Jo said...

I enjoy these handmade giveaways so much, everyone makes such wonderful articles for the giveaway. Christmas list wow well other than a new Harley and a cruise around the world both of which I know I won't get I am going to ask my personal Santa for a hex and more ruler and a drop in table for my sewing machine.

That’s a really sweet little mug rug! At the moment I would really like Santa to bring me children that stay in their beds and go to sleep at bed time! At any other time I would love Santa to bring me a lovely new sewing machine with blanket stitch and a couple of other non boring stitches as I have exhausted what can be done with straight and zigzag stitch. I know Santa will definitely not be bring me what I wish for but whatever he does bring will be appreciated. :-)

I already received my main Christmas present this year - I've been hand sewing for a couple of years and finally got my first sewing machine as a Christmas present from my mother. She decided it was easier to get it delivered straight to me rather than move it around the country, so I took the day off last Thursday to wait for the courier. Yay. Hope you get what you're hoping for too, and thank you for a lovely giveaway.

My list for Santa includes a new cutting mat for my cutting table, the one on there has so many groves from cutting that it keeps catching my rotary cutter. And Embird for my embroidery machine.
